OUR MISSION:

The Midwestern Arts & Humanities Foundation empowers the citizens of Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties by broadening the availability, appreciation, and practice of the arts and humanities by identifying resources and by providing financial support for educational, cultural, and artistic projects, thereby enhancing the quality of life in our communities.

The Arts & Humanities are Fundamental
The arts and humanities are fundamental disciplines rooted in the evolution of human kind deserving equal recognition and attention in the educational experience.

The Arts & Humanities are a Universal Language
The arts and humanities are a universal language to express, share, and understand the diversity of the human experience.

The Arts & Humanities Have Value
The arts and humanities are among mankind's highest achievments-having intrinsic value in promoting creative thinking, analytic and synthetic abilities, and problem solving skills.

OUR GOALS:

1. To Encourage Integration of the Arts & Humanities
-Reinforce an awareness, understanding, appreciation and practice of the arts and humanities.
-Encourage community programs that offer quality cultural experiences to diverse populations.
-Support opportunities for communities to bring in artistic and cultural experiences from within and outside our area.
-Enhance arts and humanities programming in the schools through curriculum, artists' residencies, service learning projects, etc

2. T0 Provide Resources For Arts & Humanities
-Provide assistance in fund development and administration.
-Provide links to other funding sources.
-Offer support for professional development for educators.
-Support best practices in curriculum and model programs.
-Support cultural activities and events in schools and communities.

3. To Build Awareness In Arts & Humanities
-Build partnerships and enter into collaborative efforts.
-Network with local, state, and national organizations, and foundations who have similar objectives.
-Create a website that promotes the arts and humanities.

4. To Build The Foundation's Financial Infrastructure
-Develop succesful grant proposals.
-Engage in successful fundraising initiatives.

-Seek interested investors/patrons.
-Establish links to other funding sources.
-Seek outside financial professionals for consultation as needed.
